Summary

BLAKE and BLAKE2 are cryptographic hash functions based on Dan Bernstein’s ChaCha flow cipher, but before each ChaCha round is added a permuted copy of the input block, XORed with some round constants. Like SHA-2, the word size is different in two versions.
BLAKE-256 and BLAKE-224 use 32-bit words to generate 256-bit and 224-bit digest sizes, whereas BLAKE-512 and BLAKE-384 use 64-bit words to produce 512-bit and 384-bit digest sizes, respectively.
